ABOUT DAVID
As a native Texan, David grew up in Spring, Texas. However, he carries on a family legacy of connection and contributions to the area with a great-grandfather who lived in Bryan and worked for Texas A&M University, and his father studied for a doctorate in Biology here, too. Now a former student of Texas A&M University himself, David earned a bachelor's degree with a double major in English and History and continues to be a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1999.

While his allegiance to Texas A&M University has been steadfast, David also earned a master's degree in higher education administration at the University of Texas in Austin and a Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of North Texas. Recently, David finished a Master of Legal Studies from Drexel University. Besides expanding his knowledge of academic administration, David has been a higher education professional for nearly 25 years and served in leadership positions for multiple colleges and universities as well as professional organizations. In these roles, David has focused on advancing policies and practices that foster academic and student success for all and continues to support the educators ~ faculty and staff ~ who are the ones that have been critical to the function of education in our communities and society.

David has been recognized by colleagues and students alike for his leadership and service. Among the honors, David is proudest of being named a Texas A&M University Fish Camp Namesake ~ rewarding him for the impact he has had on campuses, communities, and beyond based on the ideals and and values that are fundamental to being a Texas Aggie.

All of what David has accomplished and does would not be possible without the support of his wife, Sherree, and daughter, Zoey. Family members, friends, and others are the inspiration for David's campaign and he will be the brave leader to represent them, and you, with the core values of authenticity, responsibility, and transparency.
